You'll also need your own QuickBooks Online subscription (paid to QuickBooks). Books works on top of it. We don't check your books are right, give tax advice or submit returns: your accountant still does that.

Do I need QuickBooks already?
You need a QuickBooks Online account. If you don't have one we'll help you start one, and set it up properly for a trade business.
Does it replace my accountant?
No. Books keeps your records tidy so your accountant has less to do. They still do your tax return, VAT return and advice.
Is my information safe?
Your accounts stay in your own QuickBooks. Books only keeps a small amount of its own data, and we never sell it or use it for advertising. See the Books privacy policy.
What if it files something wrong?
Tap Undo in the app, or tell us. Books also flags anything that needs a look, and your accountant still checks your books and does your tax.
How do I pay?
By card or Direct Debit through Stripe, with a secure link we send once your agreement is signed. The setup fee is paid before we start, then £150 a month in advance.
Can I stop?
Yes. Give 30 days' notice by email. We disconnect Books and delete our copy of your details within 30 days. Everything in QuickBooks stays yours. See the Books terms.
What support do I get?
Phone and email in normal working hours, Monday to Friday. For something urgent, text us and we'll get back to you the same working day.
Who will I deal with?
