Terms of service
Last updated: 25 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when a business ("you") signs up to Localdesk, a trading name of Gio Petrucci, sole trader ("we", "us"). Localdesk is a business-to-business service. By signing up you confirm you're acting for your business.
2. The service
The Localdesk service includes:
- an AI receptionist that answers calls forwarded to it, 24 hours a day
- taking job details, booking and call-back requests, and missed-call text-back (the receptionist never confirms times or prices)
- a text summary of each call, with the recording and transcript available on request
- where we've agreed to build you a website, it's built once you've completed your first 3 paid months and hosted by us while you remain a client
- reasonable ongoing tweaks as your business changes
Extra website pages, larger changes, advertising and consulting are not included and will be quoted separately.
3. Price and payment
- £397 per month, payable monthly in advance.
- A one-off setup fee of £497, which is waived for our first 5 founding clients.
- The monthly price includes 300 minutes of calls answered by the receptionist each calendar month. Unused minutes don't carry over.
- Minutes over 300 in a month are charged at 25p per minute, invoiced at the end of that month. We'll tell you when you reach 80% of your included minutes.
- We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices. If that changes, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before adding VAT.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change.
4. Free trial
New clients get a 7-day free trial. We set up your receptionist first, then you sign up on the day it goes live, and the 7 days start when you sign up. You give your payment details when you sign up, but nothing is charged during the trial. If you don't want to continue, cancel before the trial ends (email is fine) and you pay nothing. If you don't cancel, your first monthly payment is taken when the trial ends.
5. Minimum term and cancelling
There's a minimum term of 3 months from the end of your free trial. After that the service continues month to month, and either of us can end it with 30 days' written notice (email is fine). We may suspend or end the service straight away if invoices are more than 14 days overdue or the service is used unlawfully.
6. Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information about your business, services, areas and prices, and tell us when it changes.
- Approve your receptionist's setup before it goes live.
- Use the service lawfully, including telling customers how you handle their information in your own privacy notice.
- Follow up enquiries we pass to you. We take the details, but the job and your relationship with the customer are yours.
7. How the AI receptionist works
The receptionist uses AI. It is set up carefully and we check it before it goes live, but it can occasionally mishear or misunderstand a caller. That's why every call is recorded and transcribed for you to check. It does not give quotes or advice beyond what you've approved. Service also depends on phone networks and third-party providers, so we can't guarantee it will never be interrupted. We'll fix problems as quickly as we reasonably can.
8. Data protection
For callers' information, you are the controller and we are your processor. We will:
- process it only to provide the service and on your documented instructions
- make sure anyone handling it is bound by confidentiality
- keep it secure and use only reputable sub-processors (listed in our privacy policy), and tell you before adding new ones
- help you respond to requests from callers about their data, and tell you without undue delay about any data breach
- delete or return the data when the service ends, unless the law requires us to keep it
- give you the information you need to show these obligations are met
Callers are told at the start of each call that it may be recorded.
9. Your website and content
Your business name, logo, photos and text stay yours. When you leave, we'll give you a copy of your website's content on request. Any domain name registered in your name stays yours. If we registered the domain for you, we'll transfer it to you on request once all invoices are paid.
10. Liability
We are not liable for lost profits, lost jobs or other indirect losses, including work you didn't win because of a missed or misunderstood call. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will give you at least 30 days' notice of any change that affects you.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
